Garage Doors
A garage door replacement can be a daunting purchase to make — but when your garage door is starting to malfunction, it’s best to act quickly, before it can become more than an inconvenience.
Here are some signs you might need to start considering a garage door replacement:
- Opening and closing slower. If your garage door is opening and closing slower than it usually does, this could just be a matter of the parts needing more lubrication. However, as the machinery of your door ages, parts can wear out. In cases like this, it’s best to call a professional and see if you need maintenance or a full replacement.
- Making noises. If your garage door is making strange sounds like scraping, groaning, or squeaking, that’s a sign to get it checked out. There is a good chance the machinery is wearing out and will need to be replaced.
- The sensor isn’t working. If a closing garage door fails to reverse when something passes under it, it means your sensor isn’t working. This can be a serious safety hazard in the wrong circumstances and, depending on what’s causing the problem, might warrant a replacement.
- The door won’t close all the way. If you can’t get your door to close entirely, it could lead to all sorts of problems. Pets could get out, pests could get in, and the contents of your garage could be vulnerable to theft. Sometimes, the solution is as easily fixed as realigning some parts. But sometimes, a replacement is in order.
If your garage door is exhibiting any of these signs, it might be time to call our team at Aaron’s Garage Doors to invest in a garage door replacement.
